I believe Pittaway is a building company with a real difference, which distinguishes us from most of our competitors. The one professional accreditation I really value is the Investors in People award we gained in 2003. The motivation for undertaking the process towards IIP accreditation was borne out of a sincere determination to extricate from the endemic 'blame culture' which has operated in the construction industry for as long as I can remember. Our commitment is to a process of continuous improvement in all areas of our business, carried out in partnership with our staff, our clients and our contractors. It's the successful implementation of this process that makes us different. We have a well trained, well motivated, customer focused workforce, interested in real 'built in' customer care, and this is why our clients and suppliers enjoy working with us.

Whilst we continue to undertake large contracting projects and have a wealth of experience to fall back on in this area, I am particularly proud of our growing reputation for more specialist work in the heritage and restoration sector. We have a core of restoration craftsmen who really enjoy this type of work, and a workforce genuinely interested in learning new specialist skills. I have a particular interest myself in restoration work, and I believe it's my responsibility as a builder to undertake sympathetic repairs, so that ancient buildings are properly preserved for the enjoyment of future generations.
